About Sunset Veterinary Care

As pet parents and animal lovers, none of us ever want to make the decision to have to euthanize our beloved pet. However, oftentimes it is the kindest thing that we can do when that time arises. At Sunset Veterinary Care, we believe that being able to offer in-home euthanasia is best for both you and your pet and can make a tough time a little bit better.

Our Services in Nashville, TN

Sunset Veterinary Care offers the ability to say goodbye to your beloved pet in the comfort of your home, minimizing the stress on both you and your pet. Euthanasia, literally translated as “Good Death” from the Greek words “Eu” and “Thanatos”, is one of the greatest gifts that we can give our pets, allowing them to have a peaceful end to their suffering in the best place, their home. While at home they are able to be in your arms or their favorite bed, surrounded by their favorite people, enjoying any last treats they may want and smelling the soothing smells of home.

Meet Dr. Anne-Marie

Dr Anne-Marie Reikes is an animal lover at heart and, from a young age, wanted to be a veterinarian. Her love of animals flowed into everything she did, with her Girl Scout Gold Award project focusing on organizing an animal adoption event. She pursued her undergraduate studies at both UC Davis and Loyola Marymount University. She went on to attend Western University of Health Sciences, School of Veterinary Medicine, a part of the inaugural graduating class in 2007. After graduation, she worked in small animal general medicine for over 13 years, building lasting relationships with her clients and patients. She has been assisting pets in having a peaceful in-home end-of-life experience since 2016 and finds immense fulfillment in being able to offer this service.
